Completing 472 laps in five hours for raising funds for workers in need
9 November 2018
On 3 November, Commtech Asia in Hong Kong participated in ‘Lap Dog Challenge’ held at Stanley Ho Sports Institute athletic track in Pok Fu Lam. The fundraising event saw the team participate for the third time in a row, since 2016. The objective was to raise funds for The Lighthouse Club Hong Kong Benevolent Fund, a registered charity that provides financial support for construction workers who are unable to work temporarily or permanently, due to health conditions.

Organised by a global quantity surveying and construction company, WT Partnership, this year’s event saw 45 runners from nine industry-leading companies including Commtech Asia’s parent company - ISG, Gammon, Leighton and Dragages complete 4,183 laps of the 400m running track in five hours.

Breaking a new record, the team of five completed a total of 472 laps and a combined distance of 188.8km this year. The total amount raised from the event amounted to a total of HK$1.2m.

Commtech Asia’s representative and group managing director, Andy Knellar commented, “We are incredibly proud of what the team has achieved and more importantly, we are grateful to be part of such a meaningful cause. We would also like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the sponsors, whose generous donations will help make a difference in lives of the people in our industry.”
